GPS Device Installer/Technician

Job description

We are looking for a dynamic installer, knowledgeable in all vehicles electronics and who can do testing and installation of the devices with our software.

Task and Responsibilities

  • Drive to Customer sites to install vehicle tracking system with Can-Bus Networking system to read Engine Control Units Data and parameters on latest model passenger cars/ Fleets Trucks/Trailers. 
  • Trouble shooting of GPS devices and should be responsible for the maintenance and upgrading GPS system. 
  • Maintain records of daily activities and update stock information.


  • Thorough knowledge of automotive electrical accessories systems electronics of CAR/BUSES/TRAILERS/ VAN and installation of fuel systems.
  • Ability to use a PC to configure and test the GPS device during the installation and good knowledge about Can-Bus System.
  • Good English speaking and writing skill.

Candidate profile

  • Languages: English and Arabic are a must, French is a plus
  • Education level: Bachelor degree in Marketing or Business

Sales Duties

  • Engages in pre-sales activities, cold-calling, attend to sales calls, follow ups for sales prospects, direct the prospects to the specialized sales personnel, Schedules appointments and meetings as necessary
  • Expected to prepare tailored sales presentations based on sales team request, assist in drafting proposals and preparing quotations as per customer needs
  • Manages daily administrative tasks related to the sales department
  • Supply management with reports on sales, customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Demonstrates good knowledge of location solutions products and services

Research and analysis

  • Researches client base for potential leads
  • Analyzes and creates a plan for engaging the target market (new market)
  • Analyzes the competition to create a plan for engagement

Marketing Duties

  • SMM activities: manages company Google Adwords account, posts on Twitter, Youtube Channel, Linkedin page
  • Generates a content plan for company publications, ensures that all agreed deadlines are met
  • Prepares newsletters and press releases to be shared with customer database of Location Solutions
  • Create a media list and maintain good relation with media representatives
  • Coordination between sales, finance, technical and marketing department
  • Expected to draft and prepare product brochures
  • Maintain up-to-date mailing lists (clients and prospects), marketing suppliers/contractors’ lists and training manuals and proper filing
  • Maintain minimum stock level of marketing materials, gather quotations for new marketing materials requirements, follow-up on delivery as per Location Solutions standards
  • Assist in preparations for exhibitions/conferences: booth setup, communication with organizers
  • Provides basic SEO support of the website (Google analytics/metrics analysis and presentation to the management)
  • Helps in managing the content of the website
  • Copywriting: drafts and arranges articles for website publications, press-releases for the media

The job in itself is quite active and aligned with that of a consultant. You will be exposed to many businesses; learn daily and be able to contribute in the advancement of connected cars technologies and smart cities.

How can you make an impact?

  • Meet ( and exceeding) sales quotas for the UAE
  • Manage the sales cycle of a complex, telematics solution sale with a 1 to 6 month purchasing cycle
  • Move the sale through the entire sales process actively engage other Location Solutions’ resources as necessary to ensure success
  • Take an active role in the RFP process
  • Continuously learn about new products and improve selling skills
  • Become familiar with all Location Solutions’ customer profiles, and be able to upsell within an existing customer network
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings, product seminars and trade shows
  • Build and manage a quantifiable 12-months’ sales pipeline 

What we expect you to bring to the role: 

  • Superior time-management and organisational skills
  • 3-5+ years’ sales experience in complex solutions software sales industries
  • Must have strong understanding of fleet management software sales cycles and dealing with top decision makers
  • Ability to manage a pipeline of 100+ active accounts at any given time
  • Must possess strong leadership, motivational, and presentation skills to be able to deal with local governments and SMBs
  • Proven track record of building a pipeline and moving opportunities through the sales cycle
  • Character and confidence to discuss solutions with C-level and other decision-makers
  • Ability to craft a solution with appropriate products and services that meets business goals based on client discussions
  • Maintain strong business relationships with all new/existing clients to optimize customer satisfaction and repeat sales opportunities. Hands on CRM to maintain up-to-date customer profiles, sales opportunities and forecasts
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, weekly work plans ,monthly and annual sales analyses
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc
  • With Valid UAE driving License ,must be able to travel and commute 50%+
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is compulsory
  • Ability to work in a team & multicultural environment
