Privacy Policy

At “Location Solutions”, we are committed to protect your privacy and to develop technology that gives you the most powerful and secure online experience. You can travel through most of our site without giving us any information about yourself. But sometimes we do need information to provide you with services that you request, and this statement of privacy explains the collection and use of data in such situations.

Who are we?

“Location Solutions” is a privately owned brand. “Location Solutions” is registered in United Arab Emirates and operates globally through resellers and dealers. This document sets out the privacy policy of “Location Solutions”. This policy explains how “Location Solutions” and its affiliated companies (“we”, “us”, “our”) use your personal information (meaning any information about you which is personally identifiable like your name, address, telephone number or email address and is generally referred to throughout this policy as “your information”). It applies to personal information collected from you.

How we collect and use your personal information

We collect your information firstly, when you give it to us (for example, when you register for our services using our registration services). In general, we use the information you provide us with in order to enable you to use our applications and services, to process requests, to enter you for promotions which you have freely wished to enter, to identify your personal preferences and to match your needs with relevant services or products. The information you provide us with via online registration is used to provide you with access via your user name and password to our website, to sign up and to receive newsletters.

Sharing and disclosure of Information

We (and if applicable, our partners or other trusted third parties) use, after obtaining your prior consent, your information for certain marketing, market research, analysis and related purposes. It is up to you to share your information with us (how much or how little information) and to allow us to use your information for these purposes. Our on screen notices will generally ask for your explicit permission to contact you for such additional purposes.

The purposes are mainly:

  • to communicate with you from time to time by email and (where you provide us with those details either via the website or elsewhere) by mobile (using SMS or, if your mobile device permits, EMS or MMS messages or similar technologies) and occasionally by post, with information, offers and other material which may interest you;
  • to make your information available from time to time to trusted partners and third parties, for the same purposes as above;
  • to conduct market research, for example to ask you to participate in a survey about topical issues, conducted by us or by our trusted partners or third parties. We will always try to inform you before you participate in the survey, about the method of use of the information you provide us with in the survey;
  • to enable us and third parties acting on our behalf to analyze your information, in a non identifying form, (generally in the form of statistics), so that we can identify trends about usage of our website(s) or services and improve them.

Additionally, we reserve the right to access and disclose your personal information in order to (i) comply with applicable laws, to (ii) abide by the lawful requests from governments, law enforcement agencies or parties whose request we reasonably consider to be justified in connection with any allegations by any party about your abuse of our services, (iii) to operate our systems properly and/or to (iv) protect ourselves or our users.

Information We Collect From You

In order to operate the Website and to provide you with information about products or services that may be of interest to you, we may collect “personal information” (i.e. information that could be used to contact you directly (without using the Website) such as full name, postal address, phone number or email address), “financial information” (i.e. credit card numbers or passwords), or “demographic information” (i.e. information that you submit, or that we collect, that is not personal information or financial information; this may include, but is not limited to, zip code, postal code, hometown, gender, username, age/birth date, purchase history information, browsing history information, searching history information, registration history information, “position information” (i.e. geographic coordinates, GSM cell-id), “status information” (i.e. presence, preferred communication channel) and the content of communications between you and other members over the Website), subject to the rest of this paragraph. Demographic information is divided into two categories: 1) “non-public information”, which consists of purchase history information and one-on-one communications between you and other users of the Website; and 2) “public information”, which consists of all other demographic information. We recommend you not to enter personal information or financial information into your “Profile” (for example, don’t use your address or password as your username, or include your name or address in your written responses), because if you do so, then it may be posted publicly on the Website, and the information will then be treated as “demographic information” that is “public information.” Please note that nowhere on the Website do we knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18, as we require that all users represent to us that they are at least 18 years old and in the case of misrepresentation, we shall not be held in any case and for any reason whatsoever, responsible for any damage of any kind whatsoever.

Information Other Websites Collect From You

On the Site, we place links to other Websites operated by other parties. Some of these other Websites contain our brand names and trademarks and other intellectual property that we own; others do not. When you click on these links and visit these other Websites, regardless of whether or not they contain our brand names, trademarks and other intellectual property, you need to be aware that we do not control these other Websites or these other Websites’ business practices, and that this privacy policy does not apply to these other Websites. Consequently, the operators of these other Websites may collect different kinds of information about you, and may use and disclose that information in different ways than we would if it were collected on the Site. We encourage and recommend you to review their privacy policies and remind you that we shall in no case, and for whatever reason, be responsible for their actions. You hereby irrevocably agree that you shall in no case and for any reason whatsoever hold us liable for any action undertaken by the operators of these other Websites and hereby irrevocably withdraw your right to claim for any compensation from us that may be due to you for reasons of use of your information by such operators.

These types of communications are known as “Operational Communications.” In some cases, Operational Communications may also contain commercial messages, such as banner ads and special offers.

We also use personal information to send you newsletters, information, offers and other promotional materials for “Location Solutions” or third parties’ goods or services. We attempt to send you offers that are of value to you, such as discounts, exclusive offers or special event information.

We require and force these entities not to use your information for any other purpose.

By purchasing, or registering or making reservations for, products or services offered or sponsored by third parties on the Website, or electing to receive communications (such as emails or magazine subscriptions) or electing to participate in contests, sweepstakes or other programs (such as discount or rewards programs), offered or sponsored by third parties on the Website, you irrevocably consent and allow us hereby, to provide those third parties with your personal information. Additionally, you agree that we may use and disclose all such information submitted to such third parties in the same manner in which we are entitled to use and disclose any other information you submit to us.

In some cases, we may enter into a promotional relationship with another company in which we prominently display their brand name or trademarks on pages of the Website. Co-Branded Companies may use your personal information in accordance with their own privacy policies. You will need to contact Co-Branded Companies to instruct them directly regarding your preferences for the use of your personal information by them. Additionally, you agree that we may use and disclose all such information so submitted to such Co-Branded Companies in the same manner in which we are entitled to use and disclose any other information you submit to us. Some Co-Branded Pages may contain an action tag (also known as a Web Beacon or a 1 pixel .gif file) that a third party, such as the advertising company Avenue A, may use to read cookies that it, or its clients, may have placed on your browser at other (non-“Location Solutions”) web sites before your visit to “Location Solutions”. This technology is used to measure the effectiveness of advertisements on such other Websites that promote Co-Branded Pages.

Any third party with whom we are allowed to share your personal information is authorized to use your personal information in accordance with our contractual arrangements with such third parties and in accordance with their own privacy policies, over which we have no control, and you agree that we are, in no case and for whatever reason, responsible or liable for any of their actions or omissions.
